Volkswagen History - Did you know that the first Volkswagen was a Porsche design? Ferdinand Porsche, who had been primary developer for Daimler-Benz, Auto-Union, and now had his own technological inVolkswagention appointment company, was put in charge of developing the Volkswagen – “The PeoplesCar” by Adolf Adolf Hitler.
Hitler desired a small four seater car, with an air chilled and resilient engine that would get 40 miles to the quart, and could be purchased for less than 1000 Marks (about $250.00). Ferdinand Porsche had already been in the style levels of an cost-effective small car decades previously, but had never been able to carry it into production. Between 1935 and 1937 Porsche developed a complete of 50 Volkswagen prototypes with the smooth four air chilled engine developed by Franz Reimspeiss – a device very similar that used throughout the vehicle's development.

Politically, an cost-effective car such as the Volkswagen, was a powerful foundation for Adolf Hitler to win the community assistance that he much required for his army journeys. Adolf Hitler was not about to let anything get in his way, and he held down on iron and steel proportion to other producers and used Nazi funding for the venture. He also took over the personal property of Earl Von Schulenberg at Wolfsburg to develop a manufacturer. This became, and still is, the greatest car manufacturer of vehicles on the globe.
The Wolfs-burg Factory never developed a development Volkswagen because by the time the manufacturer was finished, Adolf Hitler had already annexed Austria, and penetrated Czechoslovakia and Belgium. Consequently, the manufacturer was rerouted and taken over by the German air traffic ministry and the complete development was transformed to fulfill the war need.

Volkswagen History - VW Beetle

It was only after the war in 1946 that the Volkswagen lastly became the “Peoples Car”. The Wolfsburg plant was in the British area of profession and became a fix store. The British chosen Major Ivan Hirst as responsible for the manufacturer. He desired to begin generating Volkswagens since the war had developed a large need for a small inexpensive car.
